Axell Hodges is an American Freestyle Motocross rider, better known on the circuit as “Slay.” Growing up down the street from The King of Supercross, Jeremy McGrath, got Hodges into motocross at a young age. At 14, he started racing and in 2012, he won the C Class Loretta Lynn's Amateur Championship—the largest amateur motocross race in the world. Soon after, Hodges changed course and focused his attention on freestyle.

In 2016, Hodges won the Monster Energy Cup Best Whip and took home his first X Games medal: a silver in the MTX Best Whip. Since then, he’s accumulated a total of 11 X Games medals, including four golds: 2022 X Games Summer in MTX 110; 2021 X Games Summer in MTX 110; 2018 World of X Games in Real Moto; and 2018 X Games Minneapolis in MTX Quarterpipe High Air. Hodges also won the Red Bull Imagination event in both 2021 and 2022. He has created one of the most popular dirt bike video series in the action sports segment and is considered one of the most popular and influential people in the Powersports industry. He hosted the X Games Moto X disciplines at his own riding compound, the “Slayground,” in 2021 and 2022 and currently rides a Kawasaki KX 450F.
